Course Evaluations and Second Life
What is Second Life??
Second Life is a free online virtual world imagined and created by its residents. From the moment you enter Second Life, you will discover a fast-growing digital world filled with people, entertainment, experiences and opportunity (secondlife.com).
Background Information about Second Life
-A lot of people are teaching classes about Second Life.
-Second Life is very helpful for people that don't normally participate in class.
-It is free but people are paid to create land.
-Users can actually purchase basic clothing, land and goods.
-You can chat with other users and even show gestures.
-You do not have to be male or female, you can be a jellyfish, robot or maybe even a potted flower.
-Second Life offers organizations the ability to conduct meetings without having to be in the same geographic location.
What is an Avatar?
An Avatar is a virtual self.
- Avatars are valuable for disabled people that can't mobilize in real life.
- Second Life allows you to walk or fly.
SECOND LIFE ASSIGNMENT
The assignment is a 1 page paper of what we feel second life can be used for? Is it even useful? Will this be helpful for incoming freshmens? How about useful for transfer students? Will it pertain to people getting into the interactive program?
You can work in groups or individually. This is due next Tuesday (April 28).
GOOGLE CAMPAIGN PAPER
Fix Google Campaign paper and upload to Google. This is due on Thursday (April 23).
NEXT THURSDAY, APRIL 30, IS THE LUNCH and GUEST SPEAKER IN THE ATRIUM.
There will be pizza from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. If you are in Mktg 470 and Mktg 455 please let Dr. Zahay know which section you will attend.

Today we explored Second Life a little bit more in depth.
-We explored Glidden as a class and discovered possibilities that Second Life could be utilized for.
Today was the dead line to upload final papers to Google.
